I am slowly building a new computer. I am adding about one part a month (trying to stay around $200/mo). The part for March was the motherboard. The P4G8X Deluxe from ASUS. It is a very nice looking board and has several sweet features. I do not yet have a CPU or memory, but I still wanted to test the board. Every indication is that I could power up the board and I should here a beep code from the system speaker telling me that either the CPU or memory is not installed. Neither happens when I hit the power button. The case powers up for a sec and then shuts off. I have email Tech support at ASUS just now, so I will see what will happen. I know it also sounds like the power supply might be defective, but I do not think so and I am not sure how you would test it. If you have any ideas on my problems shoot me an email.
