Tuesday, 23 September 2003 by Jacob TomawLast night I was fiddling around with my internet setup, preparing to call Comcast technical support. Something unexpected happened when I tried to renew my IP address, I was able to and it looked like a Comcast IP address. However I was still unable to connect to AIM or load a web page. I was able to resolve addresses but I was not able to contact servers. I was only able to do things that did not need to leave the Comcast network. It occurred to me that maybe my account was still not active. I started the activation CD and completed the steps. After this I was up and running. The only drawback is the activation process included Comcast installing spy ware and changing you IE installation.
