These are the ramblings of a young married couple in the great City of Chicago.

This week I received me welcome packet from the USPS after my move. This pack includes a lot of coupons and advertisements for the stores in the neighborhood. It also includes who are my government officials. I did not expect any of these people to change. I moved 4 whole blocks, but it was into a new congressional district. I was in the 9th district, represented by Jan Schakowsky. I am not in the 5th district, represented by Rahm Emanuel.
Today my best friend, Joscelynn, is traveling to Germany. She will be spending a semester studying in Freiburg. Today she flies to New Jersey and then to Zurich, Switzerland. From Zurich she will take a train to Freiburg.
I am sad that I will probably not be able to talk to her as often, because we are uncertain of her computer access. However, I am excited for her to have the great opportunity to see the world.
Last week, I posted about the City sending me a Notice of Violation for not paying a parking ticket. I was prepared to go downtown and pay the ticket, but I never did. After doing a little more checking in my checking account, I saw that the check had cleared. Today, I called the Department of Revenue and used their automated system to check the status of my ticket. It is paid in full. The automated system is very slow, on the same level as the IRS Telefile system. Al least the voice from the IRS is upbeat. The City?s Revenue voice sounds like a disgruntled city employee and there are pregnant pauses between every word.
I am watching Spike TV this fine morning. And the 80?s Classic ?The A Team? is on. As the opening credits are running I had a realization. I should have noticed before. Dwight Schultz is the actor that played Murdock. He is also that actor that plays Lieutenant Reginald Barclay in ST:TNG! A look at his resume reveals that he also does a lot of Video Game voices.
