These are the ramblings of a young married couple in the great City of Chicago.

The Station Agent earns 4 of 5 Birthmarks. See it if you can, but you must read my review.
The Cook County administration building had a fire, six people died.
I had intended to see Dopamine tonight. I misread the schedule and was late for when I though the movie started. So, I saw another movie playing at Pipers Alley I wanted to see, The Station Agent. It is a really good move and I recommend it. I will have a review later.
With my ticket (and unusually long credit card receipt) I was handed more paper than is usually at a movie theater, ok only 2 pieces. One was a flyer advertising what the theater company is doing to commemorate Breast Cancer awareness month. One thing is the theater will donate 25-cents to a foundation for every ticket, as long as you go to enjoytheshow.com and register the ticket. I think this kind of campaign is a little dubious. Why not donate a lump sum. I guess it makes the consumer feel like they are involved, as I was.
The other piece of paper was a game piece for a game sponsored by eBay. You search for one of the listed items and then enter your special code. Of course, no purchase is necessary and you can all play at home by visiting http://www.imagineandwin.com/.
Tonight I was on the bus. There was a couple with their son. He was maybe 4 or 5. His father was telling another man that over the last few weeks they had been watching the Cubs on television. The child had learned to cheer “Go Cubs Go!” The father has tried to explain the Cubs are no longer going to be playing, but it is non sequitur for the child. Every morning he wakes up cheering.
It is time to concentrate on the real sports. The Hoosiers begin the NCAA basketball season Friday Night/Saturday Morning with Midnight Madness practice. The first exhibition game is Friday 7 November against Athletes in Action, the first game is Friday 21 November, and the Big Ten season opens Tuesday 06 January on the road against the Badgers of Wisconsin.
The Cubs may have done the unimaginable, by blowing a 3 games to 1 lead over the Marlins, blowing a 3-0 lead in game 6, and just plain not winning tonight. However, there is always next year. And next year is the year! Next year will end AC000000.
The Illinois Supreme Court should clear this up soon.
