The picture of the day is from our Honeymoon to Paris.
There are few, if any, high rise buildings downtown in Paris. From what I could see from the Eiffel Tower there are various business districts outside of downtown. As we crossed the Seine to Eiffel Tower we could see a cluster of buildings to the southwest. Right in the middle you can see a crane building a new building, which reminds me of home.
This picture was taken July 2005 when Mom and Brett took the family to Tennesse. We went on a hike in the Smokey Mountains with Baily Perry’s father. One of the sites we saw was a cemetery that included this colorful gravesite.
This is a stone cottage on Montmartre in the north of Paris. It reminds me of a house from a Grimm Fairy Tale. The red flowers and the brown stone show a great contrast.
Joscelynn contemplates the meaning of this national monument. I knew this was a monument to the triumphs of France. I did not know this is much like Arlington Cemetery in arch form. Though the dead are not buried here they are honored and remembered for their sacrifice to the Republics.
Do you remember signing the matting of a picture frame that doubled as our guest book at the wedding? To hang that frame we needed some wire. After having the best experience with a Home Depot associate (and ignoring all the Christmas decorations), we had our wire.
Being dutiful, I read the instructions on the packaging and saw this tidbit that reassured me the world is headed in the right direction.

I read this as “This is wire! We like the stuff we make but, damn!, we cannot hold up everything. Oh, and if you do act like an idiot, we aren’t paying for the ding in your furniture.”
It is to bad even this much has to be on the packaging, but way to go Ook.
