An Apple is a Healthy Reward
Tuesday, 24 April 2007 by Jacob TomawAt the beginning of March something clicked in me and I was committed to losing weight and getting healthy. It has not been an easy path, but I have been making good progress. Back then I was 320lb and I have lost 25lb since then.
I am not sure what my final goal is, maybe 225, but I wanted to have intermediate goals that were hard but achievable in a couple months. My first goal was 300lb.
I also think it is a good idea to have rewards for these goals. I have wanted a new computer for a while and I have had my eye on a MacBook Pro. I decided my reward for this goal should be the MBP. If I got below 300lb and stayed there for a week, I would walk into the Apple Store on Michigan and buy the machine.
Two weeks ago, I hit 300lb and last Tuesday was one week. After work I walked in to the Apple Store and told one of the clerks exactly what I wanted. Now I have a lovely new machine and OS to learn. It has also allowed me to achieve a long goal I have had for 3 displays.
I am moving on to the next goal. Now I am looking for 275lb. I am also adding an exercise component to the goal. I want to also run twice a week for 30min at 5.5mph. If I hit this goal, I am going to get a Digital SLR.

Good Job! You may have inspired me to embark on a similar reward program for my weight loss. I’ve been struggling to get started, and that may motivate me more.

Can anyone else get in on this action if we offer moral support????
