A Cure for HIV?
Monday, 24 September 2007 by Jacob TomawThis weekend I was watching Diggnation and was blown away. How could a tech podcast be the first place I heard about a promising new cure for HIV? This is the only story I can find about this. Is IBN Live not a reliable source?

Why is the TFL the only place I’ve heard about this?

Jacob, do you have any further updates?

It was published in Science. I think you have to pay to read the whole thing:

Like one of the comments said “And we’ll never hear about this again.” Wake me up when they’re ready to do a drug trial, or even an animal trial. It takes 3 months for the enzyme to kill HIV in the lab, how do we know it’ll work outside of a test tube?

Rob, thanks for finding the Science article. I saw that in the comments but was not able to find a link to it.
There is surly a long way to go with this, but I still think it is interesting that a potentially life changing find for millions like this was only reported in one Indian online magazine.
Is it possibly a sign that cures for HIV are found all the time and so this just more background noise?
