Jonah is Coming: 2 bits, 4 bits, 6 bits, A Dollar?

Monday, 3 December 2007 Jacob Tomaw

Joscelynn is at 8cm. I think this is right on schedule. Her OB stopped by and conducted an exam. He is so nonchalant about everything, but we were quite excited. I was worried we had gone backwards or not made any progress.

Now we are taking DrMcD’s advice and hanging out for a couple more hours.

Everyone comments about how strong Jonah’s vital signs are. However his heart rate shows that he really does not like it when Jos is on her right side. Guess which side she would like to be on.

Thanks for all the notes of encouragement.

Jonah is Coming: The Wait Is On

Well not much has happened. At the last check Jos was at 5cm, which is a good sign. Also, we are watching the end of The Fugitive and amazed at how old it is becoming.

We will keep you updated.

Jonah is Coming: Mommy says ‘Ahhhh’

Monday, 3 December 2007 Jacob Tomaw

Barb, (My) Mom, (My) Grandma, and I just got back from lunch. We went to the cafeteria in the hospital while Joscelynn had her epidural started.

The meal was pretty good, but I am sure Jos would go for just a taste of anything.

Joscelynn is taking a nap now. Jonah seems to be making slow progress.

Jonah is Coming: Where’s My Water?

Monday, 3 December 2007 Jacob Tomaw

We are still here and things are progressing slowly. About 45 minutes ago, Jonah’s (or is it Jos’) bag of waters was broken. The resident said everything looked good and Jos’ contractions are getting stronger.

Jonah is Coming: At the Hospital

Well we are are the hospital now. The anesthesiologist has talked to Jos; All of her information is getting entered. The IV is being inserted and after that I think this show gets on the road.

Not smart enough for this movie

Saturday, 1 December 2007 Joscelynn Tomaw

We’ve seen some quirky movies in our day, but if any of you see Margot at the Wedding and actually “get it”, please let us in on the secret. We thought we’d go out to the movies since it could be years before we have our next opportunity. I really wish we hadn’t squandered our date on this navel gazing, uncomfortable piece of poo. If Peter Travers’ review is to be believed, I guess we’re just not sophisticated enough to discern the beauty in the way Noah Baumbach develops his characters. I probably didn’t notice because I was busy plucking my eyebrows with my fingers in an effort to stop trying to pinpoint exactly why I have trouble looking at Zane Pais’ face.

If I had to find one redeeming aspect of this movie, I would say that somehow set against the sick and depressing remainder of the cast, Jack Black’s comedic relief is a god send.

But don’t let me sway you! By all means, judge for yourselves!

Anyone Up for a Nut Cracking Good Time?

Saturday, 1 December 2007 Jacob Tomaw

We are season ticket holders for Joffrey Ballet. (That’s right, that’s how we roll.) Anyway, we have two tickets for the Nutcracker for the 15th at 7pm and will not be able to go. I thought we would be able to exchange them for two tickets to another show to bring some people along, but we cannot.

I think our seats this year are really good. We are against a wall and can only see 90% of the stage. However, we are on the floor about 20 feet from the stage! You can actually see the dancers with your own eyes and hear their steps.

So, these tickers have a face value of $75. Is anyone interested in taking them? What is your best offer?
