Do you have the beef?
Thursday, 14 February 2008 Jacob TomawJosh Claybourn shared this post about “Relevent” messages preached at many modern churches. I shared it with our Sunday school’s Google group and it has lead to a very interesting discussion. I wanted to share it with all of you and see what you thought.
One last yeast hurra
Sunday, 10 February 2008 Jacob TomawThe beer we brewed a couple weeks back is now in the bottles. The yeast are going to chomp of the sugar I added on Saturday for a couple weeks and bottle condition the beer. After that the blackest beer I have ever made will be ready to drink.
Bye-bye Beluga
Saturday, 9 February 2008 Jacob TomawWe gave our niblings IOUs to Shedd. I really hope they redeem them this summer. Obviously because I want to spend time with them (all 7 of them!); but also because Shedd will be closing the Oceanarium this fall for renovations. The Oceanarium is really the only reason to go to Shedd.
My new favorite thing
Friday, 8 February 2008 Jacob TomawI like it a lot. Jonah likes it most of the time, but when he is tired of it he is won’t let me hear the end of it.
Oh, he also does not like being so close to the stove when I cook like this.
Re: Why McCain?
Thursday, 7 February 2008 Joscelynn TomawJacob, you’re not the only one to have been wooed by the “Straight Talking Maverick.” Will Wilkinson and Matt Welch attribute McCain’s success to his appeal to journalists and cast doubt on the straightness of his talk. This is also an interesting discussion about what makes McCain tick. Most telling, apparently being tortured in Vietnam was nothing compared to having his devotion to country questioned.
Why McCain?
Thursday, 7 February 2008 Jacob TomawWhy do people support John Sidney McCain, III? Please post an answer in the comments section. It can be why you support John McCain or why you think other people do.
I am having a hard time coming up with an answer that does not sound like I am denigrating people. However, my mom pointed out that I supported McCain for a time in 2000. I was drawn in by his “Straight Talk.” This does not appear to be as much of a factor in this election.
Who wins?
Friday, 1 February 2008 Jacob TomawWhat is the reason that the state files charges in cases of murder?
If someone is responsible for the accidental death of another person and the dead man’s family does not what to prosecute, what should be done? Ignoring the particular codification of law in our present legal system, but looking more to natural law.
I can see a case for the state preserving order and thus charging some form of reckless conduct, however homicide I am not as sure of.
This is not idol speculation for the people who loved Randy Salerno.
