Message from Tim Janecyk
Monday, 17 March 2008 by Jacob TomawTim Janecyk is Treffly Coyne’s husband. He left a comment to the post about the dropped charges and I wanted to pull it to the top.
My wife our family would like to thank those of you who allowed your compassion to place yourselves with us in a terrible moment in the darkest hour (97 days) of our families lives.
We didn’t win on the 13th of March.
We waited 97 days to get what we deserved… justice.
There was never any evedience that Treffly did anything wrong. They knew that on day number 1, they knew that on day number 97.
There is mounting evidence of maliciousness on the part of Chief Timothy Sulikowskis Crestwood Police.
We fought this fight to show our children that you do not stand down when you are a victim of injustice or abuse. Those girls saw mom and dad fight the good fight.
We did not win, but we BEAT them.
We beat them because of all of the millions of faceless people around the world saw the trespass against our family as a trespass against their own family.
As a father and a man, I am humbled by a debt of gratitude towards so many people… a debt I could never possibly repay.
I would say this: From the deepest part of my heart, the place reserved usually for the love I have of my family, I thank you. I hope our fight, the fight you joined, opens eyes enough that this never happens to anyone elses family.
I make you this promise:
My name is Tim Janecyk.
I would fight as hard for justice for your family as I fought for mine.

Treffly and Tim, I am glad to see that they finally had enough sense to drop the charges. I feel Trffly did the same as any other caring parent would have done. Imagine if you didnt go out of your way to give to a charity in these trying times, your life could have been normal. I am glad their are people like you out to help families in need at the holiday season, shame on the Crestwood PD for not taking the time to see your child was in a secured vehicle and moms eye right on your daughter in the vehicle.
I am glad I do not live in Crestwood, how does a parent unload his or her groceries? A baby in one arm and a bag of groceries in the other, I guess if you left your daughter in a play pen or crib as you unload you should be arrested in Crestwood.
Good luck and God bless you and your family for supporting the Salvation Army.

Justice? I am gravely concerned about the charges being dropped. If the police cannot protect the children, who will. As a mom, I would never leave my son for even one second alone. Shame on you Treffly and shame on the court for what they did not do.

Parents are best equipped to protect their children. All parents have different standards on how to protect them.
ToddlerMom “never leave[s] her son for a second.” I know there are people who think that is unreasonable and possibly harmful.
Treffly thinks it is ok to have her children keep warm in the car for a minute. Clearly, there are people who think that is unreasonable and possibly harmful.
I will make parenting choices, that some people will think are unreasonable and possibly harmful.
I cannot tolerate state action above preventing clear physical or mental abuse.

To Treffly and Tim,
I was so happy to hear you have prevailed. Our prayers were with you through the ordeal. As a mom of a 6 and 3 year old I know,as do countless other mothers and fathers, the juggling parenting entails. I see numerous examples of poor parenting in my work life and Treffly’s actions ARE NOT. Our wholehearted support to you!!
