Tweaking the PRChi
Friday, 12 September 2008 by Jacob TomawEverything continues to be perfect here in the People’s Republic of Chicago. This leaves time for the philosopher kings to tweak things just a bit. This week, Alderman Bob Fioretti want to ban metal bats. We all know they are the scourge of the Earth, thankful they may soon be gone from this fair city.
Would it be wrong to see if anyone from Louisville had been to see Ald Fioretti?

Its good to see our alderman making a difference. I’ve long thought metal bats are the problem with youth baseball. I would go so far as to say they’re the problem with youth sports programs in general. I played baseball through high school and not a week went by where someone did not complain about being forced to play with non-wooden bats. Interfering parents, and city officials seems like a healthy thing.
In all seriousness, it amazes me how this could suddenly be a problem. Baseball has been played for over a hundred years. I’d estimate atleast twenty with metal bats. Suddenly in 2008 this is a problem? I think adults should just let kids play.
Jake are you baiting me with the sports articles?
